The New Panerai Submersible Azzurro 42MM Sets the Standard in Diving Watch Excellence
There’s no better late-summer, socially-distanced hobby to take up than deep sea diving. But before you scuba suit up, you’ll need a watch that can function down below – and the Panerai Submersible is up to the task. The Submersible is Italian brand’s most robust timepiece, a super water-resistant dive watch with large luminescent indexes for optimal legibility, a unidirectional rotating bezel, a screwed case back and the bridge device to protect the crown. The watch was actually part of Panerai’s Luminor collection until 2019, but has since been fleshed out into its own collection – and now we understand why.
Blue is Italy’s unofficial national colour, so the Submersible’s blue hue is intended to evoke the sea, the element in which it’s designed for. The new watch also gets an all-new design upgrade with a matte black dial and navy blue matte ceramic bezel. Accurate, resistant and high-performing, the watch features Panerai’s first 42MM movement to combine the date function and three-day power reserve – definitely a diver’s delights.
