Fendi Men’s Fall/Winter 2022-23 Collection Is a ‘Treasure Trove of Future Heirlooms’

Fendi prides itself on pushing boundaries in the fashion world. The Italian luxury fashion house, known for its fur and leather goods, has always been synonymous with opulence and craftsmanship. Whether with its ready-to-wear, fragrances, signature bags, and even menswear, Fendi seldom misses the mark — and the house’s newest men’s collection is no exception.

On Saturday January 15th, menswear aficionados gathered (around their computer screens), to experience Fendi’s latest runway show — unveiling the brand’s Men’s Fall/Winter 2022-23 collection. The show, designed and art directed by the Italian artist Nico Vascellari, took place at FENDI HQ in Milan, and was livestreamed on the newly redesigned Fendi website. The highly anticipated runway presentation showcased the new collection, designed by Silvia Venturini Fendi herself, which is an ode to old-world elegance and its impact on the culture and fashion of the New Roaring Twenties.

The collection reimagines a gentleman’s wardrobe for a neo-dandy take on everlasting classics. With its theme of evergreen styles and classic designs, traditional fabrics were worn throughout the show — such as Vichy check tweeds and hound’s tooth suiting, satin tuxedo trims, and striped silk jacquards.

Exquisite texture, colours, and graphic elements are also present in the F/W range. Rich shades of burgundy, raspberry, mocha, taupe, white, black, and cream form the colour palette and bring together the striking styles in the collection — forming a glorious synergy of tradition, luxury, and modernity.

The collection is filled with 3D pearl and diamond digital prints, shearling floral brooches, pearl O’Lock chokers (the brand is using the O’Lock chain motif as a new monogram), and crystal FF pendants as models are seen strutting the runway displaying symbols of male sophistication.

Fendi’s signature strict lines are given a newfound softness and knitwear and leather goods are constructed in unexpected proportions. And that’s not all — outerwear takes on couture volumes and disruptive eveningwear silhouettes honour the art of dressing up. None of which is surprising given the brand’s dedication to innovation and effortless Roman elegance.
