Here’s How To Get Louis Vuitton and Nike’s “Air Force 1” Sneakers by Virgil Abloh

The fashion world has seen many impressive collaborations but what’s even more remarkable is when two brands, dominating completely different spaces (in this case high-end luxury and athletic footwear) join forces. So both sneakerheads and fashion aficionados will be excited to know that the Louis Vuitton and Nike “Air Force 1” sneakers by the late Virgil Abloh are now available — but not just to any and everybody. By that we mean: 200 pairs of the special edition collab will be open for bidding in an online charity auction — and we have a feeling you’re going to want to get your hands on these incredible kicks.

The online auction, being held on the Sotheby’s website, is starting today and will be running until February 8th. The staring bid will be $2,000 USD and the 200 pairs of sneakers, originally created by Abloh for the Louis Vuitton Spring-Summer 2022 Men’s Collection, will be made available in a range of sizes from size five, all the way to 18.

Each pair of sneakers, which are made with calf leather and feature the fashion house’s signature Monogram and Damier patterns with natural cowhide piping, comes with a Louis Vuitton pilot case made of Monogram Taurillon Leather — a reinterpretation from the house’s archive, also originally intended for the Spring-Summer 2022 collection. The luxurious pilot case, in an iconic orange shade, adapts to every shoe size, due to its internal cushion system. Each case also comes with a luggage tag in the shape of the infamous Nike Swoosh — another nod to the union of the two iconic brands.

The sneakers were also made with materials implemented in Abloh’s Men’s collections for Louis Vuitton — with the inclusion of his signature quotation marks, which fans of Abloh and his work will immediately recognize and appreciate.

Bidders will also be pleased to know that proceeds from the auction will go to the Virgil Abloh “Post-Modern” Scholarship Fund — which Abloh created in July 2020 — which in partnership with the Fashion Scholarship Fund, supports the education of academically promising students of Black, African American, or African descent.

A new pair of glamorous, special edition sneakers from two powerhouse brands where the money goes to an incredible and deserving cause — what’s better than that? Yeah, not much. Happy bidding!
