Giorgio Armani Reinvents Iconic Fragrance, Revealing the Acqua Di Giò Eau De Parfum

Giorgio Armani has just unveiled Acqua Di Giò Eau De Parfum, a re-envision of their signature fragrance from 1996, the iconic Acqua Di Giò. The new Acqua Di Giò Eau De Parfum launches April 1 and marks the 25th anniversary of the Acqua Di Gio franchise by looking to the future — embodying the brand’s commitment to sustainability by being eco-conceived, refillable, and made of consciously and carefully sourced ingredients. The sustainably sourced and natural ingredients create a sensational and aromatic scent with hints of sparkling green mandarin, clary sage heart, and patchouli essence. Serene yet sensual, it’s an indulgent fragrance that is reminiscent of its iconic predecessor with notes signature to Armani’s masculine fragrance collection.

Acqua Di Giò has always been synonymous with freshness — a classic yet modern scent that’s instantly recognizable — so we’re pretty certain you’ll want to indulge in the new interpretation of a fragrance so iconic all spring long and beyond.

Through its bottle design, sustainable practices, and fresh scent, Giorgi Armani’s new revamped juice is truly a fragrance for the future.

The bottle

While all bottle sizes of Acqua Di Giò Eau De Parfum now being endlessly refillable is a nod to their eco-conscious commitment, it also signifies the notion of it being a beautiful object that lasts — something delicate yet sturdy, something timeless with longevity and history.

Its new statement look is sleek and masculine — crafted in transparent glass (up to 15 per cent of which is recycled for the refillable formats and 25 per cent for the refill bottle) and finished with a dark, wood cap inspired by nature — and its union with architecture.

The new cap is made from sustainably sourced wood meaning that less plastic and less metal are used in this new design compared to previous plastic and aluminum caps.

The bottle is easily refillable, and this new format saves 43 per cent in glass use, 22 per cent in plastic use, 67 per cent in metal use, and 19 per cent in paper use (when compared to the equivalent volume as three existing 75ml Acqua Di Giò spray bottles).

The fragrance

A woody and aquatic masculine scent, Acqua Di Giò Eau De Parfum is crystalline yet strong. Formulated by master perfumer Alberto Morillas (Firmenich), it’s composed of natural yet evocative ingredients, encapsulating the original marine essence, while immersing the juice with a new molecule, YodanolTM, that ensures its radiance and freshness don’t fade.

Its formula isn’t entirely new, just revamped and enhanced, leaving you with something that is sensual, perfectly aromatic, and intense but not too overpowering.

Notes from across the globe make up this blend including sparkling green mandarin — from Calabria, Italy — as well as clary sage heart from Provence, France, fresh lavandin, geranium bourbon heart from Madagascar, earthy patchouli from Guatemala, warm cedarwood, and sparkling vetiver heart — sourced in Haiti.

The future

The new Acqua Di Giò Eau De Parfum is a contemporary tribute to man’s relationship with the sea. Its innovative bottle was constructed with eco-consciousness in mind from its ability to be refilled, its design and material selections, all the way to the sourcing of its ingredients. In addition to this launch, Armani beauty is also supporting a series of forest preservation programs around the world.

Giorgio Armani promises to deliver the same quality and care while looking ahead to the future with a timeless icon and furthering their commitment to the planet. With a goal of ultimately becoming carbon neutral by 2025, the creation of the new Acqua Di Giò Eau De Parfum — which achieves carbon neutrality — helps set them on that trajectory.
