The Royal Bank of Canada has proudly announced Toronto Maple Leafs center Auston Matthews as their newest Team RBC Ambassador. “Sport unites us and ideas move us forward,” said RBC in the official announcement in an Instagram post showing a behind-the-scenes look at Matthews getting ready before walking the pre-game tunnel. Team RBC was established in 2009 with the PGA and LPGA Tours and has since expanded to working with world-class talent in music and sports in collaboration and to support innovative initiatives. Matthews joins the group of talented ambassadors who align with RBC values.

The partnership was announced on November 30th by weaving the notable RBC shield and lion, and the RBC navy and gold colourways into Matthews’s outfit in a “get ready with me” moment, and as he walked the pre-game tunnel ahead of yesterday’s winning game. The pre-game walk has become a distinguished way for players to show their personal style, making it an exclusive runway in hockey. Matthews was head-to-toe in luxury sporting a Prada bag, a Gucci jacket, and Gucci lion pendant, an Acne Studios toque, and custom Amiri sneakers featuring the RBC colours hand-painted by Mack House, and custom insoles of the RBC shield.
