New Breitling Avenger Lineup: Built For High-Flying Performance

Every famous watchmaker has its specialty, and Breitling has been a leader in aviation timekeeping since the 1930s. That was when third-generation founder Willy Breitling formed the HUIT Aviation Department, an elite unit dedicated to creating precision aircraft instruments and pilots’ chronographs. Initially focused on the then-emerging field of military aviation, HUIT would go on to develop precision cockpit tools for commercial airline pilots and civilian aviators alike, including iconic timepieces like the Navitimer, the AVI Co-Pilot, the Aerospace, and the Emergency. Among the most recent additions to Breitling’s squad of Swiss-made aviation timepieces is the Avenger, a watch built to withstand the rigours of life in the cockpit and provide standout style on land. Twenty years after its initial launch, the Avenger is back with a sleek military-inspired look, an advanced Swiss movement, and a selection of stylish colourful dial-and-strap combinations that are perfect for 2023.

“The Avenger was created to stand up to the relentless conditions of a jet cockpit and to support pilots in demanding aerial maneuvers. Its redesign demanded nothing less,” says Breitling CEO Georges Kern. “This collection pairs all the performance with sophisticated modern aviation style.”

The new range comes in three distinct versions: a 44 mm chronograph, a 44 mm automatic GMT, and a 42 mm automatic. In addition to their refined automatic movements, each of the new Avengers is also rated for an impressive 300 m of water resistance and delivered with a choice of a military leather strap colour-matched to its dial or a three-row stainless steel bracelet with a micro-adjustable folding clasp.
