Revamped 2026 INFINITI QX60 Goes For Substance & Style

INFINITI’s popular QX60 SUV has been given an overhaul. Not only is the new QX60 delivering clever new tech and a crisp new design, the three-row SUV has also picked up some features from the brand’s flagship QX80.

In case you haven’t been paying attention, INFINITI is in the early stages of what the company calls a renaissance. That means we should all expect to see a lot of new models from the Japanese luxury brand over the coming years. It all started with the aforementioned QX80 flagship SUV. Next up is this refreshed QX60. There’s an all-new fastback QX65 SUV in the works, which will be followed by the brand’s first all-electric SUV.

“We’re launching a new or refreshed model every year for the next four years,” said Ken Hearn, managing director of INFINITI Canada. The focus of the brand’s renaissance, he explained, is to “boost competitiveness and build long-term brand strength.”

The renaissance for the brand couldn’t come at a better time. INFINITI finds itself at critical juncture, not just for itself but for parent company Nissan too. Times are tough. Uncertainty rules the market. And it’s not just INFINITI either; the entire automotive industry is navigating choppy waters (to put it mildly) at the moment.

But, INFINITI has a plan. Instead of chasing rivals or trying to re-launch the brand, the company is totally focused its clients. Every new model over the coming four years is all about, “meeting the evolving needs of customers,” Hearn explained.

What’s New in the Refreshed 2026 INFINITI QX60?

In the increasingly crowded luxury SUV market, INFINITI’s redesigned 2026 QX60 arrives this summer with lofty ambitions and a refreshed design language. The SUV’s new design borrows heavily from the larger QX80, adopting what INFINITI calls the ‘Artistry in Motion’ design philosophy. First impressions are of a noticeably more assertive-looking machine, with a more purposeful, athletic stance. The design team was aiming to give the SUV more presence by making it look lower and wider.

New design details, like a redesigned three-dimensional INFINITI — which, of course, is now illuminated — are meant to leave an impression. Up front, the QX80-like grille appears to float above a new lower intake and bumper design. There’s nothing revolutionary here, but it all adds up to a sharper, more modern design.

Mechanical changes are minimal, although INFINITI says that as a result of customer feedback, the QX60’s Variable Compression Turbo (VC-Turbo) engine was tweaked to make a more pleasing sound.

Inside is really where things get interesting. Perhaps the biggest new headline feature is the ProPILOT Assist 2.1 system. It’s an advanced driver assistance system — or ADAS — that is meant to take some of the stress out of long drives by allowing attentive drivers to take their hands off the wheel in certain highway driving scenarios. As INFINITI explains, “on compatible highways, drivers can press a button to have ProPILOT Assist 2.1 handle acceleration, steering and braking — while the driver pays attention and remains ready to take over at any time.” The new system is fitted as standard on the range-topping QX60 AUTOGRAPH.

The tech upgrades don’t stop there.  Google built-in software is now running on the QX60’s central display, meaning drivers get always-updated Google Maps. Google Assistant will also now respond to requests like, “Hey Google, turn on my heated seat.”

INFINITI’s tech team also improved the much-loved 3D Around View Monitor; it can now display eight views around the QX60 simultaneously, which INFINITI claims will make it easier to spot obstacles around the vehicle when parking or manoeuvring in tight confines. Also new is the Invisible Hood View. It’s a feature pulled from the QX80 that’s a godsend when driving off-road and trying to avoid obstacles. While the system doesn’t actually make the hood invisible (sorry) it does use advanced image processing to project an image of what’s directly underneath the hood.

The new Klipsch premium audio will be a major benefit for anyone who spends serious time behind the wheel. Various systems are on offer, but the range-topping SENSORY and AUTOGRAPH models add the headrest-mounted front speakers first seen on the QX80. These allow drivers to hear navigation directions or take phone calls without forcing all passengers to listen. If you’ve ever had to drive silently in a car because there’s a baby sleeping in the back seat, this new in-seat audio is a game-changer.

But Wait, There’s More

We’re intrigued by the introduction of the first-ever SPORT grade on the new QX60, although “sport” here refers primarily to aesthetics rather than performance enhancement. With an aggressively styled mesh grille and gloss black 20-inch wheels, the QX60 SPORT offers visual distinction without altering the fundamental driving experience. And, if most drivers are being honest about their needs, that’s probably a good thing.

The revamped 2026 INFINITI QX60 and QX60 SPORT will be available in Canada this summer.
