Both in Toronto and across the country, the air is electric. After the epic 18-inning saga — which matched game 3 of the 2018 World Series as the longest game of its kind ever played — and an epic win last night to tie the series at 2-2, Jays fans (even the fair-weather ones) are sounding more confident than ever that 2025 is going to be our year. At a bare minimum two games remain, and though we continue to expect the city’s bars and pubs to stay jam-packed with fans, why not skip the elbow-to-elbow chaos in favour of an at-home viewing party?

If you’re not sure where to start, not to worry; that’s why we’re here.

TORONTO, ON - OCTOBER 20 - Toronto Blue Jays designated hitter George Springer (4) celebrates with \Anthony Santander after rounding the bases after hitting a three run homer that would hold up to win the game as the Toronto Blue Jays play the Seattle Mariners in game seven of their ALCS MLB Playoff series at Rogers Centre in Toronto. Where & How To Watch

If you’re in Canada, Sportsnet and TVA Sports have the broadcasting rights for the World Series games, and in Toronto, CityTV is showing World Series coverage from U.S. network Fox Sports. A Sportsnet+ streaming subscription will be your easiest path to access, and hopefully the brief outage that the network experienced during game 4 was a one-off that won’t strike again as we head into tonight’s and Friday’s games. Fingers crossed!

Wear Those Blue Hues

We’ll always support wearing those official team colours on game day (or even in between games), but it’s also entirely acceptable to have a bit more fun with it. Granted, the fact that they Jays are playing the also blue-and-white Dodgers makes life difficult, but we doubt that you’d spot too many LA fans kicking around Toronto (or the rest of Canada) these days.

Dress up, dress down, get cozy, throw on that lucky hat and jersey combo. There’s no wrong answer here, really. It’s all part of the fun, the enthusiasm, the energy, and the memories that’ll last a lifetime.

Your Themed Food & Beverage Solutions

There’s little surprise that a number of food and beverage folks have stepped up to the plate with special offerings to supplement your usual game-day fare, though a lot of the deals around the city — at restaurants like Miku, Dotty’s, Hello Nori, King Taps, Paris Texas, and others — seem to be more focused on dine-in options. When it comes to game-day brews, Left Field Brewery is an easy pick as Toronto’s favourite baseball-centric brewery (that offers delivery throughout much of Ontario). If you’re feeling like mixing things up and whipping up pasta, Continental Pasta has a special blue and white Blue Jays themed pasta on offer as well. Weird as that may sound, Continental has been a fresh pasta mainstay in the city for over 50 years, so we’d definitely give it a shot alongside the typical wings, nachos, and other snacky favourites.

Throwing a little nostalgia into the mix, most Tim Horton’s locations have Jays-themed donuts for a little 7th inning stretch sugar boost; and yes, large coffees are available in special Blue Jays cups, obviously. If we aren’t ticking any of the right boxes yet, DoorDash is offering up to $12 off orders of $25 or more using promo code PLAKATA32, so you can stick to your usual neighbourhood delivery picks too.

Don’t Forget To Breathe

I know, I know, we REALLY want this, and so does the team. It’s a huge deal, and those who were in the city when the Raptors won the NBA Championship (or who were in Toronto for the 1992 and 1993 World Series wins) know that feeling all to well. The anticipation, excitement, anxiety, and elation make for a potent cocktail of emotions, but from our respective sideline venues it doesn’t hurt to remember that the outcome of the game is out of our control. We will continue to hope and cheer as hard as we can. If everything keeps going in the right direction we’ll have plenty more to cheer about tonight at least.

Imagine what the city will look like if the Blue Jays win the World Series on Halloween Night in Toronto?

Go Jays Go!
