Alighieri founder Rosh Mahtani spent her early years in Zambia, where she first began collecting stones, leaves, and shells to create new worlds. Upon moving to London and going on to study French and Italian at Oxford, she fell in love with Dante Alighieri. She resonated with his story of feeling lost in trying to navigate the world around him. In an attempt to combine her instinct for creating stunning objects and Alighieri’s masterpiece, La Commedia, she began carving pieces of jewellery for each canto of Dante’s Divine Comedy.

Since then, Alighieri has evolved to offer an array of stunning objects worthy of such an iconic work, including its handcrafted Alighieri Espresso Spoons. Made through the ancient method of sand casting, the spoons are plated in stunning sterling silver. Like all of the brand’s work, the spoons are rooted in rich historical influence, taking inspiration from tribal hunting tools and rock formations to make even the simplest moments, like your morning espresso, a work of art.
