Constant Innovation: The adidas TOUR360
adidas & SHARP
The adidas TOUR360 has seen countless rounds of golf — from low stakes affairs among friends at the local to the most demanding tournaments in the world. First introduced in 2005, after a lengthy period of research and development, the TOUR360 has been around for nearly 20 years, meaning that if each year were a hole, it would be getting ready to tee off on the second round. In that time, adidas has used the TOUR360 as a vehicle for technical innovation — its focus always on performance and what golfers need most for the course.
The latest edition of the popular golf shoe, the TOUR360 24, is a testament to that approach, combining the best of adidas’ technology to offer a high performance golf shoe for today — and a springboard into the future.
The TOUR360 has a rich history when it comes to technology. The first model launched in 2005 offered a new Z-Traxion outsole, 360WRAP for upper stability, a molded 3D FitFoam sockliner, and a striking design which were all cutting edge at the time. In 2015, adidas brought its revolutionary BOOST technology to the Tour360, marrying it with the 360Wrap to create a shoe that offered the comfort and cushioning of a running shoe with the stability and outsole of a golf shoe, dressed up in a sleek silhouette.
The TOUR360 24 is proof of just how cutting edge the tech has been over the years: you’ll still find the supremely comfortable midsole that features JET BOOST and LIGHTSTRIKE cushioning, as well as the locked-in feel and security that the 360Wrap provides. Of course, adidas has continued to tweak those technologies, taking into account the feedback from the top golfers in the world. In addition to the new JET BOOST and 360Wrap, the TOUR360 24 also features LIGHTSTRIKE cushioning, a Torsion Bridge stabilizer, all in a waterproof upper. Together, these features provide golfers with everything they need to be confident on the course, and for those playing more casually, you’ll feel fresh and comfortable after your round.
This year’s TOUR360 has been decked out in five colourways: cloud white with red accents along the midsole and on the trim of the stripes; a fully cloud white version with a slightly silver Torsion midsole; white with black stripes and a spark green midsole; white with black stripes and midsole; and, lastly, a black version with white stripes, which has been a hallmark of the Tour360 and, arguably, the best-looking black golf shoe.
Canada’s own Nick Taylor, the defending champion of the RBC Canadian Open, has been sporting the TOUR360 24 this year, as he attempts to take yet another step up in his career and defend his title. Week in, week out on Tour, it’s the shoe that stands out on the fairways and the greens, favoured by top players like Xander Schauffele, Ludvig Åberg and Collin Morikawa.
Dressing for the way you want to play starts from the ground up and there’s no better choice than the TOUR360 24.
