Art of Escape: Why The 2025 Nissan Murano Is Your Perfect Travel Companion
Nissan x SHARP
Whether you’re planning a sneaky micro-getaway or a long-weekend family vacation, there’s a real art to the perfect escape. The destination is key, of course, but on short trips you’ll want to maximize every moment by making the most of the journey as well. With the all-new 2025 Nissan Murano, the Japanese brand has created a machine centred around comfort, allowing you to arrive refreshed, relaxed and able to make the most of your chosen destination.
The previous-generation Murano was a family-favourite for good reason. It hit the sweet spot between size and features and value that can be so elusive in the SUV market. The all-new fourth-generation Murano keeps what everyone loved about the old model, while adding a refreshing dose of modern design, effortless connectivity and some surprisingly luxurious details. The new Murano is out here working to make the journey as good as the destination.

For example, if you live anywhere in the Greater Toronto Area, a weekend getaway up to Muskoka’s cottage country is practically a rite of passage. It’s a quintessentially Canadian summer staple, which explains why traffic is always bumper to bumper heading north on Highway 400 out of Toronto. On a long weekend, a two-hour drive can turn into four.
In that case, you’ll be thankful to have the optional massaging front seats, a first for the Murano. The gentle massage works to keep its occupants from getting stiff when you’re stuck in traffic for hours. Nissan didn’t forget about back-seat passengers either. For the first time, the rear seats also adopt Nissan’s supremely comfortable Zero Gravity design.
For the cabin, Nissan’s designers chose three colourways inspired by the unique quality of light at golden hour, just before sunset. (We’re partial to the light-grey and caramel-brown option.) Available semi-aniline quilted leather-appointed seats make for a quietly luxurious ambiance that will soothe the inevitable stress of getting everyone and everything loaded into the car and up to Muskoka.

For a getaway on the West Coast, Vancouver Island offers the ultimate escape into nature. In a single day, you could see 800-year-old Douglas fir trees, alpine mountains, sandy beaches and, if you’re lucky, catch a glimpse of a wild Orca whale in its natural habitat.
Best of all, Vancouver Island is just a 1.5-hour ferry ride from Vancouver. The 2025 Murano boasts Active Sound Cancellation as standard equipment, to help block out the noise of the city as you head into nature. Rather listen to music? The optional 10-speaker Bose stereo has you covered.
The Wickaninnish Inn in Tofino is an absolute bucket-list destination. The world-class boutique hotel clings to the rocky coast between the Pacific Ocean and Vancouver Island’s ancient rainforests. After driving off the ferry in Nanaimo, it’s a 2.5-hour drive across the island on some spectacular roads. Navigation is stress-free — the new Murano is available with Google Maps built-in, as well as Wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto connectivity to make last-minute getaways and remote excursions simple and straightforward to plan.

If you’re straying farther off the beaten path and looking to get out for a hike, Mont-Orford National Park (1.5 hours east of Montreal) offers many gentle trails suitable for families. Or, from Calgary, Drumheller’s famous Hoodoo Trail is well worth the 1.5 hour drive. The sandstone columns can be as tall as 7-metres, rising out of the Badlands like some alien structure. No matter where you go, the new Murano’s 60/40 split flat-folding second row, power liftgate and grand total of 1,798 litres of cargo space (with the back seats lowered) means there’s no need to worry about being able to fit all your hiking gear. Your next escape is yours for the choosing, and the Murano is built to get you there without stress.
