Nestled within the plush leather-and-wood clad cabin of the INFINITI QX80, one can’t help but ponder: what’s next for the brand?

The good news is that INFINITI recently gave us some rare insight into that question, detailing a renaissance already under way. The not-so-good news is that the stakes for the company couldn’t be higher. This is a critical juncture for INFINITI, and indeed for its parent company Nissan. Times are tough. Uncertainty rules the market. It’s not just INFINITI either; the entire automotive industry is navigating choppy waters at the moment. Tariffs and a global trade war have created — how to put this politely? — total chaos.

“We’re launching a new or refreshed model every year for the next four years.”

Ken Hearn, managing director of INFINITI Canada.

Fans of the Japanese luxury brand, ourselves very much included, are pleased to see that INFINITI isn’t backing down from the moment. The company has a barrage of new models incoming.

“INFINITI is amid a product renaissance to boost competitiveness and build long-term brand strength. We’re launching a new or refreshed model every year for the next four years,” explains Ken Hearn, managing director of INFINITI Canada.

That renaissance started with the all-new QX80, the brand’s flagship luxury SUV. “The all-new QX80, which has achieved a remarkable 61 percent year-over-year sales increase in the first quarter of 2025, is a testament to the positive reception of our new models,” Hearn adds. Translation? INFINITI’s flagship SUV is a smash hit.

Next up is a QX80 SPORT, slated to debut later this year alongside a refreshed version of the brand’s mid-size QX60 SUV, which will receive, “key updates from QX80.” The updated QX60 will also be joined by a SPORT model.

After all that, INFINITI is plotting the launch of an all-new two row SUV. “The all-new QX65 crossover coupe channels inspiration from the pioneering INFINITI FX, while embodying the ‘artistry in motion’ design language brought by the QX80,” Hearn says. He’s not at liberty to divulge any details yet, but if the new model is anything like the old FX — a masterpiece of automotive design — then consider us interested.

Then comes the big one: an all-new, all-electric SUV, a first for INFINITI. It was first teased by the company back in 2023, but details are still scant. Hearn says, “The luxury EV SUV, inspired by the Vision QXe concept, represents our commitment to sustainable mobility and will appeal to environmentally conscious customers seeking high-end electric options.”

The focus with this barrage of new models isn’t about chasing rivals or reinventing the brand. It’s all about meeting the evolving needs of customers, Hearn explains. Watch this space.
