Haider Ackermann’s Canada Goose continues to evolve as the designer rounds out his first year with the label. So far, his two Snow Goose capsule collections have turned expectations for the brand on its head. He’s infused bright colours and light materials into his designs, moving away from the typical bulkiness of outerwear. He even launched a spring-summer collection this year — a game changer for a brand synonymous with winter.

Now, he’s launching a third capsule collection under the heritage label, Snow Goose by Canada Goose, and it’s clear that the brand is in one of its most exciting eras yet.

Ackermann has certainly had his hands full throughout 2025. In addition to his early work as Canada Goose’s first-ever creative director, he also debuted his first collection at the helm of Tom Ford. The two worlds couldn’t seem further apart — for his first Tom Ford launch, Ackermann showcased a glamorous collection inspired by the big city. For Canada Goose, he’s gone to the furthest reaches of nature, from the arctic to vast deserts.

His work at both labels represents two sides of the same coin: a high-balling cosmopolitan lifestyle and a deep-rooted connection to the natural world. Both born from the same imagination, with a deep connection informing the other.

When his position with Canada Goose was announced in 2024, Ackermann seemed an out-of-left field choice to head the practical winter clothing company. His work at Berluti and his eponymous label often showcased fluid silhouettes, unique tailoring and draping, and high-end fabrics — how this would translate to the functionality of Canada Goose was unclear.

But he’s proven that his refined sartorial acumen was exactly what the world of outerwear needed. While Canada Goose has always been a popular choice, especially among those in its namesake country, Ackermann’s creative additions have made it especially of the moment.

The Snow Goose campaigns have utilized notable stars and models alongside bolder, unexpected presentations of the brand designed to challenge consumer perceptions. The latest release features one of its most iconic celebrities yet: country-music legend Willie Nelson.

Nelson has been a long-time vocal advocate for environmental protections and sustainability — he’s even launched his own biofuel company and started a sustainable farming non-profit. His actions have always matched his words, and this authenticity was exactly what Ackermann hoped to capture through his work at Canada Goose.

“Shooting this campaign with Willie Nelson was an incredible honour and something I’d dreamed of since my earliest days with Canada Goose,” said Ackermann. “His raw honesty, his reverence for the earth and its creatures, remind us of what endurance really means.”

For his third Snow Goose by Canada Goose capsule, Ackermann pulls inspiration once more from a 2023 trip he took to Churchill, Manitoba, where the expansive arctic captured his heart. He’s set to return soon to the place that set his imagination on fire, bringing along an exclusive group of guests to explore the unique environment.

Canada Goose has been at the forefront of sustainability for years. Its long-time partnership with Polar Bears International (PBI), a conservation group that works to protect polar bears and their arctic home in Churchill, is one of the many ways the brand looks to connect with the natural world.

Ackermann’s work on the Snow Goose collections capture the life and spirit of these often overlooked winter wonderlands with bright colours, easy movement, and the graceful silhouettes he’s known for.

“Winter is often imagined as a season of silence, as quiet or still,” says Ackermann. “But I wanted this collection to breathe, to move with the rhythm of life that persists beneath the cold and capture the pulse of life in the cold.”
