Bringing together some of the world’s top artists and galleries under one roof, 2025’s edition of Art Basel Miami Beach includes such prestigious exhibitors as Almine Rech (James Turrell, Chloe Wise, Sasha Ferré) and White Cube (Damien Hirst, Chuck Close, Gabriel Orozco). Here’s how to make the most of your time.

Eat

Tucked away in Miami’s bustling Wynwood neighbourhood is Hiden: a one-Michelin-starred omakase restaurant helmed by chef Seijun Okano. You’ll need a passcode to enter the front door — that is, if you can find it (hint: it’s at the back of another restaurant). Once inside, guests can expect an eight- to 10-course tasting menu featuring fresh and seasonal ingredients, from buttery uni to fatty tuna to A5 Wagyu. Through a mix of sushi, cold items, and hot dishes, Hiden offers a meticulously considered and modern approach to Japanese cuisine. Want in? Act fast: reservations are required, and this space only seats eight.

Stay

Located a five-minute walk from the Miami Beach Convention Center, The Setai Miami Beach is pure oceanfront luxury. The property — which has received five stars from the Forbes Travel Guide for 10 consecutive years, and also has two Michelin Keys — features three infinity pools for relaxing in between Art Basel events; four restaurants, including the South Asian–inspired Jaya; and an iconic courtyard featuring an expansive serenity pond. Also on-site are the Setai Gallery Shops, allowing for last-minute shopping at the likes of Wrist Aficionado, Lavish Eyewear, and Orlebar Brown. For the ultimate experience, book a restorative treatment at the hotel’s Valmont Spa, such as its radiance skin polish featuring sea salt exfoliation with infused oils, to cap things off.

There is a lot to see at Art Basel Miami Beach, meaning the hardest part might be choosing which booths and activations to visit. Aside from the exhibiting galleries, many brands are also participating with inventive projects. Luxury watchmaker Audemars Piguet has commissioned a selection of international artists to create new works, while insurance company Chubb has partnered with Miami-based interior design firm Moniomi Design and the New York Academy of Art’s Chubb Fellows to create an immersive site-specific experience. In addition, do not miss Meridians: the fair’s section of large, boundary-expanding works made to be experienced in-person and not merely through your Instagram feed.

If you somehow find yourself with free time (a difficult feat in Miami), we recommend balancing modern art and contemporary comforts with the city’s wealth of vintage beauty. Discover timelessly expressive vintage furniture at Primaried Studio, from Mario Bellini lounge chairs to 1980s chrome dining tables. For clothing, while its Art Deco exterior hearkens back to the past, The Webster sells a wealth of classic and modern luxury menswear labels, including the likes of Lemaire, Burberry, and Jil Sander.
