This Modern Irish Escape is a Nature Lover’s Dream
There’s no contrast quite as alluring as a sleek, contemporary home encircled by a whole lotta trees.
Scott Tallon Walker Architects were brought in to create Keeper House & Lodge, which is situated on a protected conservation area in County Tipperary, Ireland.
Set within a three-sided walled garden, it comprises a stunning main house with a separate lodge space for guests.
Energy efficiency, open spaces that maximize connectivity, and an increased level of visibility and daylight were all priorities on this project, and the architects managed to tick off each box with style and grace.
A handful of recurring design motifs — like wooden slats and marble tiling — help to give the residence a unifying air of upscale comfort.
Oh, yeah, and there’s that spectacular backyard. Did we mention all the trees?
STW Architects are shortlisted for Best House in the 2016 World Architecture Festival, which will take place in Berlin this November.
