Inside the Harry Rosen X SHARP Father’s Day VIP Event
Harry Rosen x SHARP
As Canada’s premier luxury menswear destination, Harry Rosen’s flagship store in Toronto proved the perfect venue for an exclusive gathering of SHARP VIP guests this past week to celebrate Father’s Day. A section of the Bloor Street store in Yorkville was converted into an intimate speakeasy-style event space, where fathers and sons were welcomed into an evening of whisky, fashion, and meaningful connections. Being a family-run business, the Rosen family joined the festivities, with CEO Larry Rosen attending alongside his sons Ian and Graham — Harry Rosen’s President, and Chief Financial Officer respectively.

Kicking off the night, SHARP Chief Creative Officer and co-founder Michael LaFave and Harry Rosen President Ian Rosen welcomed guests to the event, sharing their thoughts on the holiday as well as the connection between the two Canadian brands, who share a deep-rooted passion for luxury goods and experiences. The duo in turn tipped a hat to the event’s brand partners — The Macallan, BarChef, Mercedes-Benz Canada (who provided VIP chauffeur service to select guests), and Wolf Watch Winders (who offered luxurious leather watch travel rolls as a parting gift to event attendees).

There was more to the night than a mere social gathering and product showcase, of course — VIP guests were welcomed to take part in private styling sessions with Harry Rosen’s style advisors. The evening was a celebration of timeless menswear and the values that underpin it: refinement, design, and heritage. This last quality — the notion that a father’s style lives on through his son — brought SHARP and Harry Rosen together. Great style is both personal and inherited; shaped by memory, redefined for the now.
A professional father-son portrait studio was also incorporated into the VIP event festivities, which in turn gave these freshly styled fathers and sons the opportunity to capture and commemorate their shared styling experience.

No speakeasy-styled gathering would be complete without suitable libations (of course), thus The Macallan and BarChef were invited as the partner of choice, providing both whisky portfolio tastings and signature cocktails throughout the evenings. This in turn provided yet another bonding experience for fathers and sons, allowing for a generational transfer of knowledge surrounding a love of sine spirits as well as a chance for both to expand their respective knowledge of the premium Scottish whisky category.
Though all SHARP events are special, the familial bonding experience of this Father’s Day event took a step outside of the norm, not only leaving guests with memories of a fun night out, but also fostering the opportunity for shared experience between father and son. A lesson in generations of style, an opportunity to impart wisdom, and a moment to appreciate the finer things in life. All part of living a life well dressed.
