Time and time again, life presents us with moments that either teach us profound lessons or test our character. Often, it does both. These experiences can leave a lasting impact, shaping who we become and influencing the path we choose.

To say this past year has been wild ride would be an understatement. Imagine experiencing nearly every major life milestone you would normally expect to encounter over the course of several years but having them all happen within the span of one. I found myself checking them off one by one, very much in the spirit of Frank Sinatra’s “My Way.”

From finding and moving into a new condo, to settling into this exciting new role, to getting down on one knee and hearing the unforgettable “yes!” from the love of my life, the year unfolded with a pace and joyousness I never could have anticipated.

Along the way, I learned a few invaluable lessons: every opportunity that presents itself deserves thoughtful consideration. If it’s difficult, it’s probably worth doing. It’s okay to be selfish sometimes, especially when it comes to protecting your growth, happiness, and well-being. The love and support from those you love can provide faith, strength, and focus—the very forces that make life worth living.

With that in mind, it is SHARP’s great honour and pleasure to introduce Josh Hartnett as the cover star of the September issue. The devoted family man and accomplished veteran actor took a moment to sit down with me to discuss his latest television miniseries, Below, set to premiere on Netflix in October, as well as this exciting chapter of his career defined by purpose, authenticity, and evolution.

P.S. Josh, thank you for the advice you shared with me as I prepare for the next chapter of my own life: “You got to be patient. It’s never going to be what you expect. So, enjoy the process, try not to over-worry, and just enjoy the moment.”
