Highlights From Our Evening of Scotches and Watches

The latest instalment in our VIP Scotches and Watches event series once again brought together the two finest things in life — stiff drinks and sophisticated timepieces — for an intimate evening on Thursday, November 21. A group of 50 watch collectors and other notables gathered in a lofty unit at 245 Carlaw Avenue, currently listed by Michael Maxwell Homes with a $3 million price tag.

Thanks to IWC Schaffhausen, the evening’s wrist wear was just as luxurious as the real estate. Almost two dozen timepieces were on display, including the Pilot’s Chronograph Le Petit Prince ($6,950) inspired by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s famous story, the Portofino Hand-wound Moon Phase ($15,200), and the ultra-distinctive Portuguese Tourbillon Mystère ($122,000).

Meanwhile, the scotch menu showcased The Dalmore’s finest, with guests offered their choice of three cocktails all composed with The Dalmore 12: the Dalmore Old Fashioned mixed with distinctive chocolate bitters, the Dalmore Rob Roy, and the Dalmore Sour. Each paired perfectly with the rich flavours of passed hors d’oeuvres like grilled lamb belly and chicken liver mousse crostini and the central charcuterie station featuring hand-carved serrano ham, all courtesy of Victor Dries. Rounding out the bar options were Estrella Damm beer and a selection of wines — including Sonoma Cab, Sauv Blanc, and Russian River Pinot Noir — from Rodney Strong Vineyards. Throughout the night, DJ Dre Ngozi kept the stereo system blasting with a mix of high-energy .
