Audi’s R8 V10 Spyder Plus Is Its Fastest Convertible Ever
If we at SHARP have one criticism of Audi’s latest offering, it’s that saying “the new R8 V10 Spyder Plus” more than once is a bit a mouthful.
But that’s about it.
Why? Because the truth is that Audi’s latest offering is one heck of a tasty vol-au-vent of velocity.
As per usual, things tend to get bigger and faster when it comes vehicular progression and the Bavarian outfit does not disappoint with their 2018 offering by serving up something that can bolt to 62 mph in 3.2 seconds and reach a lofty 203 mph with the foot firmly on the floor. As for the “plus” in the name? Well that denotes the extra 69 ponies in that engine, which at 602 bph makes it the most powerful road car ever unleashed by Audi.
Of course, if you’re not in a rubber burning kind of mood there’s always the fact that this is a convertible — a step up from the previous coupe model. What that means is should you wish to have the sun on your face and hair gently blowing you can do so with a flick of a button at up to 31.1 mph. Add to the fact that the interior is your expected combination of dark, sleek, and stylish Teutonic splendour, this really is a gem.
If you’re in the market, Audi are taking orders and deliveries can be expected by summer — just in time to take advantage of one of the sexiest new cars you’ll lay your eyes on all summer. Prices are expected to be a whisker under $200,000.
