Get Into the Spirit of the Season with Lagavulin and The Singleton
LAGAVULIN AND THE SINGLETONÂ & SHARP
Distill your holidays with Lagavulin and The Singleton, two very different — but equally refined — single malt Scotch whiskies.
Lagavulin 8 Years Old:Â Full and Forward
For more than 200 years, Lagavulin has been turning out fine whisky in the signature style of Islay: rich and smoky, thanks to the miles of peat bog for which the Scottish island has become known. In this limited- edition expression, the taste is big and urgent, characterized by fragrant hints of chocolate and lemon with a long, warm finish.
The Glass:
Enjoy a dram of Lagavulin 8 in a Glencairn glass to better draw out the complex smoke-forward flavours
The Pairing:
To accentuate the deep chocolate notes of the whisky, try a glass alongside a fine dark chocolate.
The Move:
This one is a true sipper. It’s best to enjoy Lagavulin 8 neat, or by adding a small splash of water to bring out the flavours.
The Singleton of Dufftown 12 Years Old:Â Smooth and Subtle
The Singleton of Dufftown is proud to be a single malt for everyone, allowing people to enjoy Scotch the way they want, with no rules. The easygoing 12-year-old is a fine example of the Speyside tradition: fruity, with notes of toasted nuts and baked apples and a lingering, warm finish.
The Glass:
Let the whisky breathe in something stylish but classic, like these stunning rocks glasses by the designer Tom Dixon.
The Pairing:
Nuts and dried fruit accentuate its natural flavours. But heck, why not put together a whole charcuterie board to enjoy pre-dinner?
The Move:
You wouldn’t go wrong adding just a splash of water, but why stop there? This whisky would also make a rather brilliant Singleton Old Fashioned.
