1. Amazon could take on FedEx and UPS with new business shipping
“Amazon appears to have every intention of turning shipping into a core business, with its launch potentially arriving this year,” Jacob Kastrenakes writes at the Verge. “The service would essentially turn Amazon into a FedEx and UPS rival, allowing merchants to rely on Amazon to bring their products from a warehouse all the way to a customer’s door.”
4. The Jian Ghomeshi prosecution is falling apart
“With the collapse Monday of the third accuser’s credibility,” writes the National Post’s Christie Blatchford, “it’s now apparent the case was built upon the self-serving and carefully edited allegations of dishonest complainants, two of whom appear to have been colluding and gleefully anticipating Ghomeshi’s ruination.”
3. Range Life
American Pharoah, the racehorse who won both the Triple Crown and the Breeder’s Cup last year, is heading for a lucrative second career in the breeding shed, where the world’s fastest horse could earn up to $200,000 a night.
4. Uber’s growing labour problem
Reduced fares have led to driver protests across eighty cities in Canada and the U.S. Uber drivers have protested company decisions before, but this latest round appears to be the most intense and widespread yet.
5. New Hampshire primaries are closing today at 7 PMÂ EST
