Kea Ho Knows How to Handle Her Business
Singer Don Ho has been replaced as Hawaii’s favourite export. And his successor is none other than his daughter, the gorgeous Kea Ho.
Having followed her father’s footsteps into the entertainment industry, Kea has a starring role in the upcoming thriller Urge, alongside everyone’s favourite Bond, Pierce Brosnan. The film centres on a new drug that allows you live out your fantasies, but quickly turns deadly. In addition to her role as a femme fatale, Kea also worked behind the scenes as a co-producer, but the extra work and responsibility didn’t phase her a bit.
“My dad had me and my siblings involved in the business basically since we could walk,” says Kea. “When I was 14, I got to work behind-the-scenes on his show and learn how everything comes together. Obviously, it was really helpful and I know now how to get a lot of stuff done myself in movies.”
In honour of a film that will no doubt strike some fear into the hearts of its audience, we wanted to find out what scared Kea the most.
Would you rather be chased by killers all night or be possessed by a demon all night?
Being chased by killers. I hate possessions. I’d hate to not be in control of my own body.
Would you rather feel something touch your leg in a lake or hear footsteps in the attic while home alone?
Swimming in a lake. I’m from Hawaii so we feel weird things swim by us and touch us all the time, it’s not a weird thing. Having someone in my attic would be horrifying.
Would you rather have terrifying nightmares every single night or hallucinations during the day?
I’d have to go with terrifying nightmares, I guess. That one is a bit of a toss up. The hallucinations could get me into serious trouble. At least with nightmares, I’m at home in my bed.
Would you rather have dinner with Chucky or Hannibal Lector?
Hannibal. I haven’t seen the Chucky movies, so I don’t really know about him. I love Silence of the Lambs and I’d love to pick Hannibal’s brain, so to speak! He’d be a great conversationalist.
Would you rather deal with zombies, vampires or evil spirits?
Vampires, for sure. I have a thing for vampires. I think zombies are scary because they have no mental capacity, whereas vampires are probably really smart, they’ve been alive for centuries! You could possibly bargain with them.
Would you rather be scared by physical things or psychological things?
I’m definitely more scared of physical things that I can see. Psychological things don’t get to me as much. I guess you could say that I like the dark side!
