Vince Carter Just Turned 40, But He’s Still Out Here Making 360 Layups
Here’s a little tidbit to make you feel old: Vince Carter — he of the Greatest Dunk Contest of All Time; of the Dunk de la Mort; of the flames early-’00s signature Nikes that I still look for on eBay regularly — turned 40 today.
Honestly, I’m not sure if it’s more shocking that Half-Man, Half-Amazing is now Halfway to 80, or that dude is even still in the league. Once upon a time, the guy was going shot-for-shot with Allen Iverson, and AI’s been cashing retirement checks for well over half a decade at this point. Hell, even Kobe retired at the ripe old age of 37.
Anyway, the Artist Formerly Known As Air Canada got in some early birthday celebrations last night, during his Memphis Grizzlies’ hard-fought 101-99 victory over the Toronto Raptors. Perhaps just to prove to his former team that he’s still got it, Vince went ahead and did this:

Yep. That was a contested 360-degree layup. Whatever highly illegal youth serum this guy is drinking, I want in. Let’s see that from another angle.

Happy birthday, VC. Here’s to you staying out here posterizing fools for at least another decade.
