Here’s a Clip of Jon Hamm Parodying Don Draper on ‘SpongeBob SquarePants’

You know what’s weird? When two things that were very important to you in similar ways at different points in your life suddenly and unexpectedly collide. It’s especially weird when you learn of this collision at the end of a long and frustrating workday, when all you really want and need is a little pop cultural comfort food, and suddenly you have this bizarre yet heartwarming concoction to fill the gaping void in your chest.

What, exactly, am I (totally, completely oversharing and) rambling on about? Jon Hamm will be guest-starring on SpongeBob SquarePants, arguably my favourite television program from the ages of 8 through 11. He’s voicing a character named Don Grouper, a charmingly obvious parody of his iconic role on Mad Men, arguably the reason I started smoking at the age of 19. (Uh, sorry, Mum.)

Anyway, here’s a clip of Grouper delivering some very Don Draper-y dialogue over a SpongeBob-ified version of the Mad Men opening credits. It’s exactly what I needed right now. Thanks, Universe.
