Here’s a NSFW Trailer for a $100 Million Mansion in Beverly Hills, Because LOL
We’ve said it before, but this ‘short-film’/advertisement for OPUS, a $100-million home in Beverly Hills, gives us a good reason to say it again: Real luxury isn’t about money. Not entirely, anyway. It’s certainly not about ostentation. Or pretension. Yes, luxury is often expensive, but the concept is more holistic. It’s having the means to buy quality, timeless goods, and also the freedom to enjoy them. A supercar isn’t luxurious unless you have the time to drive it.
It’s about exclusivity — and part of exclusivity is discretion, subtlety. Like great art, or a fine timepiece, a certain degree of expertise is required to appreciate why something fetches the price that it does. Translating that isn’t always easy, especially visually.
Because you know what looks luxurious? Gold. GOLD! SO MUCH GOLD!
That basically seems to be the guiding creative philosophy of the Opus people, who made this video to promote their new property. To be clear, the home is amazing. Incredible views, vast rooms, everything your wannabe Tony Stark could want. But, the filmmakers seem to think, how will the commoner understand how nice this house really is? The answer: gratuitous nudity and fucked up messaging, litres of gold paint and a heavy dose of unintentional comedy.
Although, to be fair, it does take a lot of time to organize all that body painting…so maybe it is luxury.
