So, There’s Now a Supercar Vending Machine
Ever watch a vending machine cough out your bag of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos and think, “Man, if only I could buy cars this way?”
Our guess is no. Probably never.
Well, Autobahn Motors in Singapore has decided to build an enormous supercar vending machine anyway. The 15-storey showroom is jammed with pre-owned luxury cars, ready to dispense a Rolls-Royce or Lambo at the push of a button.
Starting from the bottom, customers can swipe through the 60 autos in storage on a touchscreen display. Tap on your supercar of choice, and the vehicle will descend via an elevator system that places it at center stage. Once there, it rotates on a turntable illuminated by spotlights, inviting you to get in and drive.
Of course, this insanely over-the-top automobile buying experience isn’t completely without purpose. Autobahn designed the building to make smart use of Singapore’s congested streets, allowing them to store and display a variety of cars without taking up too much space. If you ask us, they pretty much nailed it.
Included in Autobahn’s ever-changing selection is a swath of top-tier autos, from a 2014 McLaren 650s to a 2013 Rolls-Royce Ghost EWB.
And no, whacking the side of the building won’t result in you getting a free car. Easy there, Fonz.
