The 10 Best Dressed Men at the 2021 Golden Globes

Despite taking place largely via webcam, with only a small contingent of stars showing up in person, Sunday’s 78th Annual Golden Globe Awards offered a welcome reprieve from sweat-suits and casualwear. While some attendees, like Jason Sudeikis and his tie-dyed hoody, did go casual (he was calling in from home, after all), others used it as an opportunity to prove they still remembered how to tie a tie and shine their shoes. It was a welcome reintroduction to the world of formalwear. Here’s our list of the night’s most sharply dressed men.

Justin Theroux

Saint Laurent

Justin Theroux is a man who knows the value of a personal uniform. On the red carpet, he kept it thoroughly Theroux with slim trousers and black boots from Saint Laurent, along with a shiny wrist piece from Cartier.

Kevin Bacon

Dior

Nobody does the slightly disheveled and possibly disinterested look quite like Kevin Bacon. The tugged-down tie adds a touch of attitude to a classic Dior suit.

Tahar Rahim

Louis Vuitton

Rahim celebrated his first Golden Globe nomination with a smart double-breasted suit from Louis Vuitton, along with their latest watch: the Tambour Street Diver. To top it all off, he swapped dress shoes for zip boots. Smart move.

Anthony Anderson

Chopard

Not only does Anderson’s tux fit like a glove, his outfit offers a lesson in how to accessorize without going overboard. The pinky ring and diamond lapel pin from Chopard add just the right amount of spice.

Riz Ahmed

Celine

This pinstripe suit from Celine may just be the ultimate choice for an at-home awards show. Its free-flowing fit is both contemporary and, we imagine, plenty comfortable.

Jared Leto

Gucci

Leto is keeping the ’70s alive with his long hair and handlebar-esque moustache, so it’s no surprise that he opted to wear Gucci from head-to-toe; the luxury fashion house’s artistic director Alessandro Michele has something of his own obsession with the ’70s.

Dior

The Unorthodox star proved there’s nothing wrong with the old adage: “less is more”. Rahav kept it classic with a black wool shawl lapel tuxedo from Dior.

If you’ve watched Schitt’s Creek, it likely comes as no surprise that Levy went all out with his outfit, wearing a yellow suit from Valentino and a handful of jewellery from Cartier. While we wouldn’t recommend a sequined shirt and shiny derbies for just anyone, Levy is no mere mortal.

O’Connor nabbed a statue for his performance as Prince Charles in The Crown, while wearing a custom fit from Jonathan Anderson of Loewe. With contrast lapels, a cravat, and eye-popping white trousers, it’s a look that’s worthy of a king, let alone a prince.

Daniel Kaluuya

Unfortunately, Kaluuya was muted while giving his best supporting actor acceptance speech via webcam, but he at least knew how to dress for the camera. How? He added some interesting details up top, including a simple chain and some punchy stitching on the lapels of his Dior jacket.
