Aston Martin Will Build a Lair for Your Car to Make Your Wildest Supervillain Dreams Come True
If you just so happen to live at the summit of a jagged mountain surrounded by a perpetual thunder storm and need that certain je ne sais quoi to make your house just a pinch more villainous, then fret not, for Aston Martin’s got you.
The British luxury automaker has unveiled a service named “Automotive Galleries and Lairs,” which they describe as being “for anyone who would like to create a unique bespoke garage — their own ‘Automotive Gallery’ – or for the truly adventurous the ultimate retreat or ‘Automotive Lair’ in which to keep their car.”
So basically, the service will recruit “renowned architects” to build a bespoke garage or luxury retreat to house your supercar, which presumably is an Aston. (Otherwise, awwwkward.)
“Imagine a home or luxury retreat built around your car,” says Marek Reichman, Aston’s design boss, in a statement. “Picture creating the ultimate space to showcase your own automotive works of art.”
The concept photos give off extreme Bond villain vibes, with many of the lairs seemingly belonging to evil-doers who choose to have their base of operations underwater. (Great for keeping out unwanted action heroes.)
The program will be run by Q, Aston’s bespoke car-personalization service. Taking the reins of the effort will be the automaker’s Chief Creative Officer Marek Reichman, whose team has already created interior designs for the 66-floor Aston Martin Residence in Miami (which, yup, is also a thing).
No word yet on whether the lairs are equipped with self-destruct buttons just in case Batman comes around sniffing. Stay tuned.
