MB&F’s new superwatch

MB&F introduces Horological Machine N°5 “On the Road Again,” a feat of timepiece technology inspired by high-performance cars. Combining design elements of vintage 1970s sports cars with a complex automatic movement, the wedge-shaped case takes design cues from Amida’s famously futuristic Digitrend watch, released in 1976. In characteristically far-out MB&F fashion, the case features slide-operated louvres that let in light to recharge the luminous dials, while “exhaust pipes” drain water, should the watch get wet. An optical grade sapphire prism reflects the horizontal hour and minutes so that they display vertically—all the better to see the time without lifting your hand from the wheel of your Countach.
