Erica Cerra Is Our New Sci-Fi Crush

Erica Cerra is a relatively new addition to The 100 — the post-apocalyptic drama on which she plays an A.I. called A.L.I.E. — but the Canadian actress is no stranger to the sci-fi genre. In fact, before she won her current role, Cerra popped up on everything from Battlestar Galactica and Smallville to Supernatural and iZombie, just to name a few. So, yeah, she knows what she’s doing.

Despite those strong Comic Con credentials, though, the Vancouver-born beauty insists that she never planned it this way. “I guess it’s become my niche now,” she says, “but I find that in general I prefer to watch things that are almost a fantasy because it’s way more entertaining and imaginative.” We tailored this round of “Would You Rather?” questions a little more specifically in an effort to make Cerra feel more at home.

Would you rather stay on earth with no technology or live in space on a futuristic space station?

Oh, I’d rather stay on earth. I’d be just fine with no technology, thank you! Can I at least have something like a safety kit? Bandages? A first aid kit and matches and I’ll be fine.

Would you rather be able to speak to ghosts or speak to aliens?

Good one! I want both! When it comes to ghosts, I can speak to people I loved and lost. But with aliens, I could ask so many questions. That’s so tough, I can’t choose. You know what? I’m going to get a little sensitive and choose ghosts because I lost my mother and I’d want to speak to her.

Would you rather only be able to speak an alien language or have bright blue skin?

Would there be any other aliens to speak to? If it’s just me alone, I think I’d rather have the blue skin.

Would you rather have to live life as an A.I. or a zombie?

[Laughs.] I’d go for A.I, thank you very much! I’d rather my body not just rot away! I’d want to live eternally.

Would you rather only be able to watch Star Wars or Star Trek?

Star Wars. I haven’t seen the new one yet, but I grew up watching them.

Would you rather have fingers as long as toes or toes as long as fingers?

Oh my lord! That’s so weird but I love it. I’d say toes as long as fingers because you wouldn’t be able to do anything with fingers as long as toes. With toes as longer as fingers, I’d be like a monkey!
