Create Healthier Cocktails With Belvedere Vodka

With summer just around the corner, many of us are trying to embrace a healthier lifestyle that includes regular movement and nutrient-rich foods. But being healthy is all about moderation and balance, meaning you don’t have to totally deprive yourself to attain your health goals — even when (or especially when) it comes to booze. That’s right, you can still enjoy a refreshing cocktail every now and then while trying to make healthy choices — you just have to choose…carefully. Cocktails with plant-based ingredients that you would typically find at a fresh-pressed juice bar are a great option when you want a treat with added health benefits, and Belvedere vodka makes for the perfect base.

The irony of combining vodka with the kind of drink you’d normally reach for first thing in the morning or after a long run certainly isn’t lost on us, but it’s a healthier alternative when you want to crush a cocktail. Sticking with vodka is a logical choice since it’s low in calories and carbs, and Belvedere contains zero additives or added sugar. Made with only Polish rye and purified water, you can feel good about indulging in this spirit (within reason, of course).

And, contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to add any sugar to a cocktail to make it taste great. Instead, mixing Belvedere with some of your favourite produce just might help you discover an unexpected, winning combination. Healthy, superfood ingredients such as kale, turmeric, beetroot, avocado, and carrot actually make for the perfect mixers and garnishes — you just have to be brave enough to try them.

But before you can choose your next go-to cocktail recipe, you’ll need to secure a bottle of Belvedere. The Polish spirit, which is distilled by fire, can be found at the LCBO for $52.30 (for a 750ml bottle). It features aromas of citrus, pastry, and vanilla, a round and smooth taste.

Now for the recipes. Whether you like a mixed cocktail with notes of ginger and lemon or a carbonated, minty drink similar to a mojito, there are a number of ways to prepare Belvedere that will taste great and help you feel your best. Choose between the Turmeric, Beetroot, and Kale Belvedere Super Cocktail recipes for a healthy, refreshing, and delicious drink that’ll make you feel almost as good — or even better, depending on how you look at it — as your favourite fresh juice or smoothie.
