Canada’s Ultimate Moto Culture Festival Is Coming to Prince Edward County on the Long Weekend

After last year’s epic showing of custom motorcycles from around the world, Moto Craft Show is returning to Ontario with renewed vigour and an all-new format. Taking over Base31 — a decommissioned WWII air force base — on August 1st to 3rd, the festival has been built out to include more exhibitors, experiences, tech demos, live music, and even an on-site camping option for attendees looking to get the most out of the immersive experience.

Unlike the many other motorcycle events and rallies found across the country, Moto Craft isn’t billed as the typical moto fest, rather a celebration of the spirit of motorcycling that blends culture, speed, and artistry. Sure, the stunt shows, demo rides, and moto gear vendors will all be part of the equation (the Royal Distributing Vendor Village will be packed with brands and makers of all shapes and sizes), but space has also been dedicated to art and photography exhibitions, and film screenings selected by the TMFF motorcycle film festival.

Probably the most intriguing item on the demo ride list is the all-new Stark VARG dirt bike: the world’s most powerful production electric dirt bike that’s been getting tons of buzz lately. It’s been banned from the X-Games, spurning plenty of conspiracy talk about whether or not the sponsoring gas-powered brands stepped in to quash the startup. Either way, getting seat time on an 80-horsepower dirt bike that delivers over 680 ft-lbs of torque? How can you say no — that’s more torque than you get out of a 2025 Porsche 911 Turbo.

On the customization side of things, you can once again expect impressive international heavy-hitters, through Moto Craft’s partnership with the Haas Moto Museum in Texas. Victoria BC’s Jay Donovan and Aussie-born Texan Craig Rodsmith are returning to the show for 2025, alongside the masterful metalworker Christian Sosa and chopper-building extraordinaire CT Newman. Outside of international talent, a call also went out to local builders earlier in the year, inviting them to showcase their latest custom builds. Entries will be judged by both the Haas team and Moto Craft organizers, with the best-in-show winner receiving a trip to the Haas Moto Museum in Dallas, as well as the opportunity to have their winning motorcycle put on display at the Haas Moto Museum for 90 days. As it stands upwards of 80+ motorcycles have been entered, though more last-minute entries are expected before gates open on August 1st.

Though long weekends are meant for fun and relaxation, there are also a number of educational moments to be experienced at this year’s Moto Craft Show, in case attendees wish to learn more about the scene and their respective machines. Augment Motorworks will be presenting tech clinics on Saturday and Sunday to give riders insights into repair and maintenance, and Karl Allen-Muncey (of @zenmotorcyclemaintenance) will be giving a talk on the intersection of riding and mental health on Saturday afternoon. Lastly, the much-loved “Meet The Builders” sessions will be hosted throughout the weekend by the team from the Haas Moto Museum.

If none of this is enough to persuade you yet, we’ve still not reached the end of the weekend’s entertainment. Performances by Jay Malinowski (of Bedouin Soundclash fame) and Down With Webster are planned for Friday and Saturday nights respectively in Base31’s Drill Hall. It’s going to be a busy weekend once you’ve taken in the whole scene but don’t worry, that’s just what long weekends are for.
