Turn Your Living Space Into A Loungescape
Continuing a partnership that has spawned some of the Italian furniture brand’s most beloved, memorable pieces, designer Antonio Citterio and Flexform once again come together to introduce the Loungescape seating system. Despite an expansive size, Citterio made a concerted effort to create a piece grounded in lightness, able to conform to the unique elements of a space.
“Loungescape stems from ongoing research on the theme of a home’s living spaces,” explains Citterio. “The raked base, a signature feature of the design, lends a sensation of lightness while maintaining its bold visual presence.”

The Loungscape’s raked base is meant to offer a light contrast to the initial impression of monolithic solidity it might initially convey. As with all of Flexform’s designs, elegance is a constant consideration. Since 1959, when the Galimberti brothers first opened their artisan workshop called “Flexform di Galimberti,” the company has worked under the ethos: “if luxury is defined as superfluous, useless abundance, and excess, the term certainly does not apply to Flexform.” The Loungescape is perhaps the perfect embodiment of this approach, now commonly and affectionately referred to as “quiet luxury.”
The combination of its modularity and the array of available size options make Loungescape an exceptionally versatile seating system, one with numerous possible configurations suited to all kinds of spaces. The sofa’s unique one-piece structure groups soft cushions together to form a “harmonious whole,” while its organic shapes are meticulously crafted based on the principles of the ideal balance between proportions and angles of inclination. The effect is meant to encourage an experience that blends relaxation and hospitality. The piece also offers select fabrics and leathers from the exclusive Flexform collection, introducing countless upholstery customization options to create unique, distinctive design solutions.
