ILM Just Released a Ton of Incredible Concept Art from ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’
Heads up, nerf herders! Earlier today, the visual effect savants over at Industrial Light & Magic released a whole whack of concept art from Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Beyond their artistic value  — a few of the renderings would look pretty damn cool framed on a wall  — they offer a fascinating glimpse into the creative process behind the highest-grossing film in North American box office history. There’s a solid mix of scenes that made it into the final film (X-wings cruising over water; Rey scavenging on Jakku) along with some really intriguing stuff that was either changed or cut (an evil-looking castle; Kylo Ren’s early helmet designs; Luke Skywalker with a man-bun).
Take a closer look at a few of our favourites below, or head over to ILM’s website to see the full batch.
