House of Suntory remains Japan’s leading whisky house, both for its exceptional spirit craft, and for how it has led the charge in establishing Japanese whisky as a top-shelf spirit around the globe. As any self-respecting whisky fan, and they’ll no doubt tell you that Suntory’s range of products can stand against any of the industry’s finest. Suntory is renowned for its whisky, but less well known is its long history of distilling spirits. The house’s founder, Shinjiro Torii also crafted the first Suntory gin in 1936, Hermes Gin. Shinjiro and his successors then continued to work to build a deep knowledge of distilling and blending techniques.
