Audi x SHARP

There’s an old adage, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” Apparently nobody told this to the perfectionists at Audi. The Q5 SUV has been a true success story for the brand, consistently ranking as Audi’s best seller in Canada. Loyal drivers have come to love their Q5s as you might come to love that first cup of espresso in the morning. Any small changes to this staple of the lineup — a machine that arguably set the benchmark for medium-sized luxury SUVs — will be under a bright spotlight.

So, what has Audi come up with for the all-new 2025 Q5? At first glance, it’s fully redefined and fresh. The soft lines are gone, replaced by taut creases. It’s like the Q5 hit the gym and got wider. Audi’s trademark single-frame grille features a large, asymmetrical honeycomb pattern surrounding the raised four-rings logo. It looks quietly luxurious. The grille itself is wider, sharper, and more prominent too. The all-new design drips with newfound purpose and poise.

In the cabin, it’s a similar story. The all-new 2025 Q5 is the first SUV built on Audi’s new PPC architecture, which stands for Premium Platform Combustion. It doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue, but it doesn’t matter. What’s important is that the new architecture means a more spacious feeling cabin, with ample legroom, as well as improved interior ergonomics. Audi’s engineers sweated the small stuff, with rear seats that slide fore and aft as needed. The luggage cover can be stowed under the trunk floor when not in use. Brilliant!

Slide into the driver’s seat and you’ll see Audi’s latest technological innovation: Digital Stage. It’s a cutting-edge piece of technology, with a slim, curved OLED display as the main screen and an optional screen for the front passenger. Counterbalancing all that tech is a soft, wraparound cabin bathed in your choice of leather or sustainable fabrics.

Audi’s PPC platform allows for a range of powertrains, from a 268-horsepower four-cylinder turbo in the all-new Q5 to a 362-horsepower V6 in the all-new SQ5. The ride is firm, with precise steering and — in the SQ5 especially — a tidal wave of torque to push the SUV toward the horizon. And, obviously, quattro all-wheel drive is standard, because this is Audi. Come on.
